Seeking Independent Insurance Property Inspectors

Our Loss Control Services Representatives come from all walks of life. If you’re an experienced inspector, we want to hear from you!  This is a great gig for retired insurance agents as well. 

If you don’t have industry experience that is ok too.  Construction background and time in the trades also lends itself to loss control.  If you are inquisitive, driven & self-directed, observant & detail oriented, and enjoy being out in the field working with people then check out the rest of this job description!

What does an Insurance Loss Control Inspector do?

Our Insurance Loss Control Inspectors visit various property locations on behalf of the owner’s insurance company; with a goal to minimize potential losses. There is no selling involved. Requests for inspections are received directly from the insurance companies.
  • Responsible for planning and organizing their work
  • Schedule their own appointments with property owners
  • Travel to the location
  • Tour the property and collect information (Residential and Commercial)
  • Identify potential areas of loss such as fire, theft and liability
  • Take photographs and required measurements
  • Prepare the Loss Control report of the property using Davies’s web-based platform and prefabricated forms 
Our Inspectors’ work environment    
  • As independent contractors with AFIRM, our inspectors work from home
  • They travel to various locations from their home base to assigned locations
Successful Inspectors are:
  • Outgoing and independent
  • Curious and inquisitive by nature with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Well organized and manage their time efficiently, take responsibility for, and organize their assignments
  • Focused on quality of work while providing exceptional customer service
  • Competent computer skills with good input speed and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

What all our Inspectors must have:
  • A reliable vehicle
  • Mobile phone
  • Windows based computer
  • Reliable home internet (high speed preferably)
  • Digital camera or smart phone that takes high quality digital pictures
  • Background in construction, fire & safety, hospitality, or real estate is beneficial but not required.
  • This is a great gig for retired insurance agents!! 
  • Successful candidate must live in the geographic area advertised!
