  • As a Senior Consultant for Workforce Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and execution of our consulting projects. Your primary focus will be on growing and delivering a portfolio of consulting projects, driving sales efforts, managing teams, and ensuring the highest standards of excellence in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include

Project Management

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of workforce development consulting projects from inception to completion.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
  • Oversee project budgets, resource allocation, and risk management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project progress to stakeholders, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Business Development
  • Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with potential clients with a particular focus on state workforce agencies, HHS agencies, and large employer organizations.
  • Lead sales efforts, including prospecting, proposal development, and presentations to secure new consulting engagements.
  • Identify new and emerging opportunities in growth industries such as clean energy, broadband infrastructure, information technology, and healthcare.
  • Leadership
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior consultants and project teams to foster professional growth and development.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, monitor team performance, and provide feedback to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and innovation.
  • Project Execution
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality consulting services that meet or exceed client expectations and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of project deliverables to ensure alignment with client objectives and best practices.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and drive initiatives to enhance service delivery effectiveness and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or 10 years’ experience required, graduate degree preferred
  • 5-10 years’ relevant work experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Strong familiarity with the public workforce system (e.g. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act)
  • Strong grasp of key workforce development concepts, present-day challenges, and emerging solutions (e.g. career pathways, skills gaps, apprenticeship, skills-based hiring).
  • Experience with providing advisory/consulting services to employers, government organizations, industry organizations, etc.

PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $95-120k and a potential discretionary bonus of up to 15%

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role below. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
