The Senior Manager, Accounting, is responsible for managing the accounting operations of ISACA, ensuring compliance with US-GAAP, corporate policies, and external audit requirements. This role focuses on managing the day-to-day expense management and accounts payable functions, as well as coordinating monthly financial close activities. The position also involves guiding the accounting team, supporting process improvements, and assisting with annual audits. In this role, you will partner with the Director, Accounting, to deliver accurate financial reporting and ensure effective internal controls.

Responsibilities:
  • Accounting Operations Management
    • Oversee daily operations of expense management and accounts payable, including invoice and payment processing, compliance management, and customer service. Manage monthly and year-end closing activities, ensuring the accuracy of internal financial information and the timely preparation of general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Provide leadership to our accounting team, including training, coaching, and performance management. Manage schedules to ensure proper coverage, conduct regular team meetings, and foster an environment of open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement and System Management
    • Identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements to streamline accounts payable and expense management processes. Collaborate with IT and other departments for software upgrades and improvements, focusing on Concur and NetSuite functionalities.
  • Financial Reporting and Strategic Support
    • Assist the Director, Accounting, in preparing accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Provide insights and support to management on strategic decisions related to financial operations, including advising on accounting best practices.
  • Compliance and Audit Support
    • Ensure compliance with 1099 and 1096 reporting requirements, managing vendor documentation and maintaining accurate records. Support the year-end audit process by preparing necessary documentation and collaborating with external auditors.
  • Special Projects
    • Assist in the preparation and management of special projects or reports as required by finance leadership.
  • Documentation
    • Write routine reports and business correspondence for departments under areas of responsibility.
  • Supervisory Responsibility
    • Hire, train, develop, and evaluate direct reports, ensuring that the team members have opportunities to grow their skills and contribute to ISACA's success.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Minimum Experience:

  • 7+ years in progressively responsible accounting roles, including managing teams.
  • Experience in process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Technical skills in using accounting software and ERP systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • Supervisory experience in a professional association or non-profit organization.
  • Experience in a global accounting environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Fonteva).

Certification:

  • Preferred: CPA designation
