Wright Public Entity LLC, a division of Brown & Brown, serves as a management company providing claims administration, risk management & loss control, underwriting & marketing, and client services in New York for the NY Schools Insurance Reciprocal (NYSIR: ‘A-’ rated by Best), NY Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR: ‘A-’ rated by Best), Wright Specialty Insurance’s national education program, and Statewide Schools Health Plan. We also act as a TPA for Workers Compensation for various self-insured schools & municipalities in New York.

The Property Damage Claims Examiner candidate will manage, from inception to conclusion, an inventory of first and third-party property damage claims arising under a municipal insurer’s automobile, general liability, and inland marine policies.

Responsibilities

  • Determine coverage
  • Investigate liability and damage aspects of claim through desk and field investigators/appraisers
  • Evaluate liability and damages based on gathered facts and applicable law
  • Reserving and payment processing within IT software system
  • Timely and accurate written and verbal communications to claimants, agents, insureds, and others
  • Obtaining favorable claim conclusions and providing superior customer service
  • Subrogation

Position Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience and success in handling first and third-party property damage claims arising under automobile, general liability, and inland marine insurance policies
  • Relevant experience in and knowledge of the business of claims adjusting and basic coverages
  • NY Independent Adjuster’s License
  • Ability to work independently and with others to problem solve and complete tasks
  • Bodily injury claims, municipal claims, and litigation experience a plus
