Position Description

QIAGEN offers a broad and comprehensive portfolio of instruments and consumables solutions for molecular diagnostic testing. From manual and automatic extractions, PCR instruments, syndromic testing and molecular diagnostics high throughput systems for genetic disease analysis, infectious disease testing and women’s health samples. The UK & Ireland Sales team are based throughout the UK and support customers within different geographical regions. Our team takes a collaborative, inclusive and innovative approach to supporting our customers and matching their needs to the best QIAGEN solution. To strengthen our Molecular Diagnostics sales team, we are looking for an Account Manager to drive and grow sales within the molecular diagnostic market for the QIAGEN portfolio across Scotland, the North East of England and Ireland.

Key responsibilities:

- Achieve sales target through the growth of existing accounts and the identification and development of new customers within Scotland, NE England and Ireland.

- Identify and interpret customer requirements, and align these with QIAGEN’s comprehensive portfolio of instruments and products.  

- Support customers through the sales cycle and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction, build trust and develop long term relationships by providing the best possible support and service

- Effective weekly/ monthly planning of field based activities. Report and forecast to the sales manager and via the customer relationship management system (CRM).

- Manage and negotiate contracts and tenders. Work closely with the laboratories and procurement teams to close sales.

Position Requirements

- Bachelor of Science, PhD or equivalent experience. Understanding of the fundamentals of molecular biology techniques

- Previous sales experience is desirable but not essential, as full training is available

- Committed and dependable team player who can collaborate with different teams and colleagues within QIAGEN

- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to and engage with customers

- Located within Scotland, Northern Ireland or North East England, with the ability to travel across the territory 80% of the time

- Full driving license is essential
