Role Overview

We are in search of a highly skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to be part of our esteemed team, working remotely from the Los Angeles or Bay Area, CA. In this significant position, you will deliver outstanding legal defense solutions to our clients within the insurance sector. This role presents an excellent avenue for a seasoned attorney to leverage their expertise in liability law while enjoying the advantages of a remote work setting.

Key Responsibilities

As our Insurance Defense Attorney, you will:

  • Represent clients in a wide array of insurance defense cases.
  • Provide expert legal counsel on intricate liability matters, ensuring client confidence and clarity.
  • Formulate and implement strategic defense plans that prioritize client interests.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes to our clients’ advantage.
  • Conduct thorough research to support case preparation and strategy formulation.
  • Draft, review, and enhance legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to deliver exemplary legal services.
  • Keep clients informed about case developments, advising on potential legal risks and strategies.
  • Stay updated on evolving laws, regulations, and trends in insurance defense and liability law.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • At least 10 years of experience in insurance defense, with a concentration in liability law.
  • A valid license to practice law in California.
  • A proven history of successful client defense in insurance-related cases.
  • Superior negotiation, dispute resolution, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities, with an ability to interpret complex legal texts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex legal concepts effectively.
  • A high standard of professional ethics and integrity.
  • The capacity to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload remotely.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • At least 8 years of First Chair experience in third-party insurance defense cases.
  • A solid grounding in General Liability, Product Liability, Commercial Auto Claims, and Toxic Tort.
