About the Role

The ASSOCIATE MERCHANDISE PLANNER will be responsible for developing, executing and maintaining merchandise plans for Men’s Footwear & Accessories business. You will be responsible for the pre-season planning and in-season management of your area and you will be an integral part of the success of driving this business forward. In addition to the financial management of your business, you will have the opportunity to support and drive strategic initiatives to drive even broader impact to our team, company and most importantly, our clients. You will report to a planning leader, but also be interconnected with various cross functional partners. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starting, sharply analytical problem-solver with proven planning acumen and the ability to adapt to the Stitch Fix business model.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
  • Create pre-season plans and manage rolling operating financial forecast (ROF/OTB) for multiple classifications in collaboration with Buying
  • Partner closely with your Buying Team to drive the success of the your department/departments by meeting or exceeding plans for sales volume, inventory turnover and gross margin across multiple revenue channels
  • Provide assortment and productivity targets to meet financial goals as well as satisfy client needs
  • Identify risks and opportunities and recommend actions to address business needs across both fix & direct order channels
  • Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Forecast receipt flow to ensure optimal inventory levels that balance liability and opportunity while delivering an excellent client experience   
  • Responsible for in-season scenario planning as well as actionable recommendations to address business needs
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis based on historical performance, product attributes and customer attributes 
  • Participate as a valued partner with Styling, Allocation, Operations, Engineering and Data Science Teams

  • You have a college degree with 2-4 years of retail planning and e-commerce experience
  • You have prior merchandise planning experience in Men’s Apparel or Non-Apparel business 
  • You are experienced in tops-down, bottoms-up planning 
  • You are comfortable balancing data-driven decisions while navigating through ambiguity to make well-rounded recommendations
  • You are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and have experience using Google Suite applications. Expert level Excel skills are a VERY strong plus!
  • You have a strong understanding of retail math, merchandising financials, and profitability KPIs
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment that embraces change
  • You have a bias towards action, results-focused and detail-oriented

Compensation and Benefits

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance. Salary Range
$108,000$114,000 USD
