The Role: 

As a contract Senior Revenue Accountant at Viz.ai, you will manage the order-to-cash and month-end revenue close process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. Your responsibilities include contracts review, accounts reconciliation, variance analysis, journal preparation and supporting internal and external reporting.

You will: 

  • Support the end-to-end order-to-cash process, including review and approval of sales orders in the accounting system, billing, accurate revenue recognition and maintain documentation supporting the revenue recognition schedules in compliance with ASC 606
  • Read/record complex customer contracts and identify pertinent terms and issues to provide appropriate accounting guidance and propose solutions within Company’s existing revenue recognition policy under ASC 606
  • Work closely with the Sales and Professional Services team to improve process workflow within Netsuite and integration with other systems (e.g. Salesforce and hours tracking tool) and provide guidance to ensure accurate generation of sales orders entry and invoices
  • Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end financial package, including deal reviews, balance sheet and P&L flux analyses and account reconciliation 
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed

What success looks like:

  • You thoroughly review complex contracts, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards and identifying any potential risks
  • You collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, legal, finance) to resolve contract-related queries and align revenue recognition practices
  • You proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance revenue recognition efficiency and accuracy

We are looking for:  

  • A team player and strong can do mentality
  • At least 3+ years of relevant industry experience and/or public accounting 
  • Strong technical accounting skills in ASC 606 and Software Revenue Recognition experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA and experience at Big 4 preferred
  • Experience working with NetSuite and moderate to advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Ability to effectively convey knowledge to non-technical internal and external customers 
  • Detail oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – This role will regularly interact with the Assistant Controller, VP of Finance, and CFO
