Your Contribution

We design, develop, and manufacture cutting-edge products, and work with industry leading distributors and partners to deliver innovative, reliable, and easy to operate solutions. As a Channel Partner Manager, you will develop our business and find new approaches to grow in new markets while maintaining our strong relationships with key strategic distributor partners. You will collaborate with our partner network to define a growth strategy in specific markets and ensure we meet the needs of a varied pool of customers in a multitude of markets primarily focused on law enforcement, search and rescue, and firefighting.

You will be responsible for crafting a strategic sales plan including collaborative initiatives with distributor partners, marketing, and sales. You will work alongside a team of highly competent individuals, with a joint mission of expanding our market presence and strengthening our brand. Your team ensures that our partners have what they need to present and sell our products and solutions.  This job is a great fit for you if you enjoy working in all aspects of sales and find satisfaction in getting involved in all areas of our business as needed. You must be comfortable managing and communicating the big picture, in addition to learning about and becoming intimately familiar with the details. Ideally, you are located near a major US city or airport.

Your Job in Plain Text

  • Develop and implement long term collaborative strategic business plans to grow sales and drive profitability using an “insights selling” approach and track progress on implementation of tactics. 
  • Track ROI of FLIR’s investments (money, manpower, and commitments).  Coordinate and communicate monthly plans to key accounts and FLIR support structure to ensure execution of business plan. 
  • Collaborate with customer’s internal departments to capitalize on current and future product offerings to ensure we are maximizing the accounts’ potential. Work to develop any specific SKU’s needed. Share ideas and customer needs through all phases of product life cycle. 
  • Generate, develop, and manage customer and project demand for FLIR First Responder Fire / Law Enforcement solutions.  Responsibility for all products sold into the First Responder Market by Teledyne FLIR Solutions.
  • Foster and maintain positive business relationships with FLIR sales, customer service, marketing, business development, product management, finance, and sales administration to communicate and execute plan.
  • Effectively utilize and execute marketing resources (both FLIR and Partner) to reach partner’s customer database through selling of programs, products, events, and promotions. Provide regular feedback to marketing and management on effectiveness of programs, competitive insight, and overall territory performance. 
  • Communicate and stay abreast of industry trends and competitive strategies to understand account needs and positioning.
  • Participate in sales meetings and trade shows representing the company and presenting products and programs.
  • Quarterly forecasting of Strategic partner’s expected revenue including product gap analysis, top performing SKU’s, and industry trends
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with assigned Strategic Partners to review financials and co-developed initiatives to grow revenue. 
  • Consistent and well-planned travel throughout territory, prioritizing activity for greatest ROI
  • Develop new strategies to build business and seek new ways to build markets and market share
  • Keep management informed of market and competitive dynamics, issues and other conditions that impact the business

To be ready to take on this role we prefer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with focus on technical disciplines.
  • Significant years of channel sales experience in a business-to-business sales environment.  
  • Strategic and customer-oriented selling skills.
  • Ability to travel 60%+ and work remotely while maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Self-motivated with intense commitment for knowledge of territory numbers and meeting and exceeding goals. Proactive with positive approach and sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently or with internal resources in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Excellent time management and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with or for First responders and or law enforcement.
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and organizational skills, including forecasting.
