Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for general ledger accounting functions. Provides support in all accounting areas, including accounts payables, fixed assets and account reconciliation.  Performs daily general ledger entries, conducts bank reconciliations, accounting/financial report preparation, conduct periodic audits, etc.  

Key Responsibilities
  • Month end close process – preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments, variance analysis and other schedules as required.
  • Cash accounting and bank reconciliations.
  • Compile and analyze financial information.
  • Assist with fixed asset ledger – additions, disposals, depreciation and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and post payroll general ledger entries.
  • Assist with Property tax returns and 1099’s.
  • Cash disbursement posting.
  • Employee benefit accounting and associated reconciliations.
  • Prepare schedules required for annual audit and tax.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in general accounting.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, GL and financial reporting skills required.
  • Proficient understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Experience in healthcare or information technology industry with transactional business model preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Netsuite & Quickbooks Accounting Software a plus.
