Job Summary

VSolvit is looking for a Junior Attorney to join our team. You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. You’ll also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. This role is ideal for a recent law school graduate seeking to gain experience in a fast-paced, dynamic legal environment.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Support and work closely with senior management on all legal, regulatory and business matters
  • Work with outside legal counsel
  • Assist the General Counsel on all company legal, regulatory and business matters
  • Perform legal research, review, and prepare contracts
  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
  • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
  • Perform legal research to support senior attorneys
  • Draft and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and motions
  • Participate in client meetings and legal consultations
  • Assist in the preparation of legal opinions and advice

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Must be able to work well with others in a fast-paced team environment
  • Self-motivated with a high sense of professional ethics and integrity
  • Working knowledge of contracts, transactional, and general corporate and business areas
  • Must have good research and writing skills
  • Excellent English and communication skills, both oral and written
  • JD degree from an accredited law school
  • Must have passed the bar exam
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
