Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewables Real Estate Attorney to join our prestigious renewable energy firm that specializes in pioneering utility-scale energy storage projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert in lease negotiations, land options, purchase agreements, and easements/entitlements pertaining to utility-scale renewable initiatives, including solar, wind, and energy storage.
  • Draft, amend, and negotiate all legal land agreements relevant to utility-scale renewable projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Real Estate team to perform comprehensive title, survey, and mineral due diligence, incorporating research on land use regulations and restrictions.
  • Oversee the financial closing process for renewable land development transactions.
  • Facilitate coordination among internal and external stakeholders involved in land acquisition and related legal initiatives for project financing.

Required Skills

  • Extensive expertise in lease negotiations and legal land agreements for utility-scale renewable projects.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation capabilities for real estate documents.
  • Proficiency in conducting title, survey, and mineral due diligence processes.
  • Ability to manage the financial aspects of renewable land development transactions.
  • Excellent coordination skills with multiple stakeholders for land acquisition initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of legal experience in infrastructure land development transactions, preferably as a licensed attorney within a firm focused on grid-connected utility-scale renewables.
  • Solid understanding of land title issues, mineral rights, and the permitting processes for project development.
  • Proven ability to draft and review various real estate documentation, including purchase/sales agreements and lease terms.
  • Strong background in land negotiations and complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with the lifecycle of utility-scale renewables, including interconnection, permitting, and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) negotiations is advantageous.
