Job Overview

As the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, you will be an integral member of our vibrant team, collaborating closely with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Your industry expertise will be crucial for developing and executing effective sales and marketing strategies across our expansive hotel portfolio. We are in search of a meticulous, proactive leader with a profound understanding of the hospitality sector, who can motivate and guide a team toward exceptional performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze market dynamics and pinpoint potential acquisition avenues.
  • Co-create comprehensive sales and marketing strategies tailored to our diverse properties.
  • Monitor and refine sales and marketing initiatives to ensure team accountability and success.
  • Supervise the formulation and execution of sales and marketing plans.
  • Leverage various sales and marketing tools to boost RevPAR and overall revenue.
  • Assist in negotiating corporate rates and strategizing sales team placements.
  • Facilitate the recruitment and development of the sales team.
  • Aid in the management of marketing budgets.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess and enforce standard operating procedures.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the sales bonus program.
  • Engage in sales calls and provide training to sales managers and their teams.
  • Optimize sales department activities to uphold accountability to goals and objectives.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders regarding rate strategies and group reservations.
  • Assess the return on investment for promotional initiatives, marketing expenditures, trade exhibitions, and industry events.

Required Skills

  • Extensive experience in sales and marketing within multi-unit, branded hotel environments, including select service, full service, convention centers, and independent luxury properties.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Director of Sales & Marketing in mid to large-sized hotels, with an emphasis on catering and banquet operations.
  • Background in third-party management is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in a variety of sales techniques and strategies.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate independently and within a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to manage pressure and multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Leadership aptitude, capable of guiding a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with practical execution.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience is required.
