Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is currently seeking a Senior Director, Sales Capabilities.
As the Senior Director of Sales Capabilities, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and execution of innovative learning and development initiatives within the wine and spirits industry. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of sales training frameworks, trends in learning and development, and the ability to shape the vision of the Sales Capabilities function. You will lead a dynamic team of professionals, collaborating closely with cross-functional senior leaders to align on training agendas that elevate our sales force and enhance overall performance.
Responsibilities:
- Vision & Strategy Development: Shape and articulate the vision for the Sales Capabilities function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market demands. Develop strategic learning initiatives that drive sales effectiveness and enhance team performance.
- Trend Analysis & Innovation: Stay at the forefront of trends in learning and development, integrating new methodologies and technologies into training programs. Utilize industry best practices to continuously enhance our training offerings.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales training professionals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with senior leaders across various functions, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Human Resources, to align on training agendas and ensure cohesive messaging and support for sales training initiatives.
- Training Frameworks & Techniques: Leverage strong knowledge of sales training frameworks and techniques to design, implement, and evaluate training programs that meet the diverse needs of our sales teams.
- Performance Measurement: Establish metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of training programs, making data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes and achieve business objectives.
- Thought Leadership: Serve as a thought leader within the organization and the industry, sharing insights, trends, and best practices in sales training and development. Represent the company at industry events and forums.
- Travel: 35%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Education, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in sales and/or learning and development
- Wine and spirits industry experience preferred but not required
- Proven track record of leading successful learning and development initiatives and teams
- Strong understanding of various sales training methodologies and adult learning principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for developing talent
- Experience in measuring and analyzing training effectiveness to drive continuous improvement
