The Underwriting Support Specialist position provides analytical and administrative support to the underwriting team. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conducts loan reviews using established pre-funding checklist and CTC a File
  • Review data to ensure accuracy within the loan origination system
  • Verifying address & borrower information
  • Analyze insurance and property taxes and calculate monthly payment.
  • Confirm all documents and changes have been reviewed and cleared
  • Analysis & clear soft pull, VVOE, & any outstanding 4506 transcripts
  • Update loan safe and evaluate
  • Update AUS as needed and review findings
  • Run early check and clear all alerts
  • Reports deficiencies to Underwriter and/or management and follows up to assure that deficiencies are corrected or addressed by the responsible party
  • Upload 1008/1003
  • Email broker’s office that the file is cleared to close

Verify required documents for Jumbo/Non-Conforming Loans

  • Review income documentation and confirm all necessary documents are in file
  • Evaluate credit to ensure minimum requirements are met
  • Review purchase contract for full execution by all parties
  • Run credit upon request & run DU as needed per program
  • Request missing documentation required for initial loan review

Provide Support to Underwriting Team

  • Preparing new loans for Underwriter review
  • Indexing resubmittal reviews
  • Sending files for investor review
  • Ordering supporting documentation request
    • Examples: desk reviews, FHA case request, VVOEs, etc.
  • Conducts adverse action request

Job Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is a must.
  • We're looking for candidates with at least 1-2 years of experience in the mortgage field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interactions.
  • You should be detail-oriented and organized to manage tasks efficiently.
  • The ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing business needs in a team environment is key.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, is required.
  • We're seeking someone who can work collaboratively and professionally in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude are vital for success here.
