Job description

This is a remote-based position that can be based anywhere in the United States.

Calix is helping the next generation of broadband service providers build an entirely new business model by reshaping the way that they interact with their subscribers, leveraging the power of cloud-based analytics, and enabling new revenue streams.

We are currently seeking a proven sales leader to lead and inspire a team of high-performing individuals to record sales and customer success on the Major Accounts team.

The team you will lead will be responsible for sales growth and execution of our Calix Portfolio for Intelligent Access Edge and Cloud Applications for Marketing, Support, and Operations to innovative Communication Service Providers (CSPs). As Tier 1 and 2 CSPs look to transform from their legacy services ‘roots’, Calix is focused on enabling their transformation by providing innovative services and solutions which will enable them to compete in an increasingly competitive environment.

This role reports into the VP Sales, Major Accounts and Americas International.

Key Activities and Essential Duties:

  • Lead and drive Sales execution of our Calix Portfolio for Intelligent Access Edge, Revenue Edge, and Cloud Applications for Marketing, Support, and Operations.

  • Lead and influence the team to meet and exceed established sales goals by generating a sales pipeline, accelerating active opportunities, and driving to close.

  • Develop and drive territory, business, and account planning strategies, and drive aligned tactical sales actions.

  • Analyze pipeline and performance, effectively and consistently forecasting on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Ensure sales best practices are applied to support high velocity sales cycles, and high quality, sales performance. 

  • Support and influence the development of Product and Marketing strategy to drive sales growth.

  • Leverage sales leadership experience to coach, develop and motivate the team as they grow as sales professionals.

  • Manage the day-to-day and week-to-week operations of the sales team.

  • Collaborate with overlay sales resources to bring subject matter expertise, strategy, and support for customer engagements.

  • Work closely with company leadership to select, evaluate and recruit new sales talent as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of sales management experience.

  • Proven track record  of leading teams who have over-achieved quota (top 10-20% of company).

  • In depth understanding of cloud-enabled business solutions with a specific focus on Service Providers.

  • Experience managing complex sales cycles from business champion to the CEO/CFO/CMO level.

  • 10+ years of quota carrying software or technology sales or pre-sales and account management experience.

  • Experience managing and closing complex sales-cycles and ownership of all aspects of territory management.

  • Candidates must be competitive, cooperative, collaborative, and work well with customers both internal and external.

  • Strong computer skills, including Salesforce.com, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Travel Expectations: 50%

  • This role requires a valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in successfully managing or selling into Tier 1 and 2 CSPs (e.g. MNOs, MSOs and Wireline Fiber.)

  • Experience leading a team of first line sales leaders and managers.

  • Understanding of key marketing challenges in the CSP industry.

  • Previous Sales Methodology training, CRM experience, and strong customer references preferred.

  • Bachelor and/or master’s degree in a Business, Commerce, or STEAM strongly preferred.

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

409,900.00 - 614,800.00 USD Annual

National Major Cities plus, CA, CO, NY Metro area:

356,400.00 - 534,600.00 USD Annual

Regional plus NY:

320,800.00 - 481,100.00 USD Annual
