Overview
We are seeking a skilled and seasoned Senior Accounting Manager, who can transition into a partner level/principal role overseeing an established office of 10 accounting and tax professionals. The ideal candidate will have expertise in overseeing the accounting and tax teams. Our client's clientele mainly consists of businesses, non-profit organizations, and government agencies in the broader Galveston and Houston region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for internal management of the firm and will serve as the primary point of contact for numerous clients. Additionally, you will receive support from senior management within two other accounting firms operating under the same ownership. As senior manager, you will work closely with the current principal handling business development and overseeing operations, while working as part of the management team, with the goal of transitioning into the principal role as the current principal scales back and eventually retires.
Tax Services Management
As a critical member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing our tax services department. This includes reviewing tax returns, overseeing tax compliance, conducting research, and developing and implementing tax strategies to meet client needs.
Management and Leadership
You will provide strategic direction and leadership to the accounting team, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of accounting services. Responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, budgeting, timely report delivery, and risk management.
Business Development
This role is instrumental in driving revenue growth and expanding our client base. You will identify and pursue new business opportunities, build strong client relationships, and develop strategic partnerships.
Accounting Oversight
As a Senior Manager, you will ensure the accurate and timely completion of financial statements, tax returns, and other financial reports. You will maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with GAAP, and provide accounting guidance to the team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and research.
- Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve revenue growth objectives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Provide tax and accounting guidance and support to the team.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Oversees general ledger functions to assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Thomson Reuters, and SurePayroll
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with Texas state tax laws and regulations
- Strong analytical abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

- Client Relationship: You will be directly working with the client. This means that you will communicate with the client, provide services, and address any client-related matters independently.
- Payment: All payments for your services will be handled directly by the client. Elevate and Delegate is not involved in processing your payroll. Your salary will directly go to you.
- Vacation Leaves and Holidays: While we may have recommendations or guidelines regarding vacation leaves and holidays, the decision is entirely at the discretion of the client. You are expected to align your schedule with the client's business needs and any specific policies or preferences they may have in this regard.
Salary: $2100 - $2700
