About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization

This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.
Duke University Health System - Patient Revenue Management Office (PRMO) seeks to hire a Sr. IT Analyst who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.
The Sr. IT Analyst will develop and disseminate operational and financial reporting to support revenue cycle operations. Primary responsibilities include revenue cycle reporting, analytics, scorecard and dashboard development for key operational initiatives to support revenue cycle leadership. This analyst will have detailed knowledge and understanding of business intelligence functions including but not limited to analytics, data mining, data warehouse, reporting and visualization dashboards.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Report Developer
- Generate standard or custom reporting solutions summarizing financial and operational business data for review by executives, managers, external vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify the business requirements and data needs with a focus on understanding how the data will be utilized.
- Identify appropriate data sources, utilize business intelligence tools, and provide an appropriate reporting solution to meet stakeholder needs. Translate disparate internal data sources into a single source data set that is easily reportable on.
- Identify and summarize basic characteristics in data and trends in data patterns related to Revenue Cycle information.
- Perform functional testing to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data.
- Participate in operational meetings and proactively offer guidance on appropriate reporting solutions.
- Engage with internal and external Epic application analysts, as needed, to determine if specific data needs can be met based upon system functionality and internal Epic build.
- Proactively communicate with customers regarding the timing of data delivery, particularly communicating anticipated de lays.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with revenue cycle departments, and external stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Proactively provide updates throughout report development.
- Provide end user support for reporting tool usage and data interpretation.
- Remain current with industry trends within the business s intelligence continuum.
- Facilitate change control process to move reports through appropriate user level testing and acceptance.
- Support data analysis and reporting needs for special business intelligence projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or relevant field preferred.
Skills & Experience
Work requires a minimum of six years’ experience in report writing and data analytics.
Experience required in programming, data analysis & report development in a language such as SQL, or similar experience in a leading, recognized analytical toolset, such as Cognos
Experience with Epic, Clarity data warehouse, Cognos, Oracle SQL Developer, and Tableau preferred
Knowledge of data warehousing and management, in-depth experience writing reports, and working with data to create reports.
Certifications
Requires current Epic Clarity Data Model certification or the ability to complete certification(s) within 6 months of employment, except where otherwise negotiated. Relevant data model(s) will be communicated at the time of employment. Certification is required on the Epic version current at DUHS.
