Role Description

Are you ready to inspire and lead a diverse team of creatives? We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic Creative Director to bring fresh ideas, big-picture thinking, and strong leadership to our growing team. At Keen, you’ll work with a talented crew of video editors, copywriters, and designers at all career stages – from entry-level stars to seasoned experts. You’ll guide them through a wide variety of projects like branding, social media content, UI/UX design, landing pages, email campaigns, and performance marketing ads.

Responsibilities

Lead & Inspire:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers, animators, and video editors, fostering a culture of creative excellence and growth.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s to provide feedback, oversee career development, and ensure overall team well-being.
  • Build a supportive and collaborative environment that sparks creativity, innovation, and continuous learning.

Creative Direction & Strategy:

  • Shape and develop creative ideas across a wide range of projects — from social media campaigns to branding and performance ads.
  • Transform client needs and goals into captivating creative strategies and ensure work aligns with their vision.
  • Partner with internal teams to bring ideas to life in a way that’s impactful and on-brand.

Project Management & Collaboration:

  • Oversee multiple creative projects across various brands, ensuring we meet deadlines and deliver high-quality, visually stunning work.
  • Work closely with clients, translating feedback into actionable improvements and building strong, lasting relationships.
  • Maintain a test-and-learn approach, iterating creative assets to optimize for performance and stay ahead of industry trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of creative leadership experience, with proven management skills in an agency or fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and inspire diverse creative teams across multiple levels of experience.
  • Comfortable assisting in the recruitment, screening, and hiring process ensuring you help to build a team of experts to produce client work.
  • Strong digital design portfolio that showcases a variety of skills — from branding and web design to performance-driven creative work.
  • A strategic thinker with strong presentation and storytelling skills who loves finding the balance between art and purpose.
  • Proficient in design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and Figma.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, clients, and team members while keeping a keen eye on detail and quality.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing creatives at all levels, helping them achieve their fullest potential.
  • Comfortable collaborating with developers, strategists, and clients to ensure design work is not only beautiful but also effective.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working in e-commerce, startup, SaaS, or consumer brand industries in the United States.
  • Familiarity with Shopify best practices.
  • A track record of developing creative strategies for performance marketing and retention campaigns driving trackable revenue.
