THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented team member Senior Specialist, Benefits to join our People Team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and administering team member (employee) benefits programs, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and providing exceptional support to our teams regarding their benefits inquiries. You will also collaborate with senior leadership to assess the success of the Company’s benefits portfolio and recommend enhancements or new programs.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Compensation & Benefits, this position requires a customer centric mindset as you will play a key role in working with AG1 team members across geographies, time zones, and cultures.  The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills. We're looking for someone who can successfully navigate through a high-volume of critical (and often, shifting) needs, while not skipping a beat.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, disability, life insurance, and other employee perks. 
  • Ensure all programs are compliant with federal and state regulations.
  • Support leave management and employee personal leave requests
  • Manage the enrollment process for new and existing employees. Provide clear and concise communication to employees regarding benefits options, changes, and procedures.
  • Liaise with benefits vendors and insurance providers to ensure timely and accurate service delivery; foster relationships with account managers
  • With the support of management, oversee the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other perks. Continuously evaluate and optimize these programs to meet the needs of our workforce.
  • In tandem with our benefits broker, evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations to leadership for improvements or changes.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to employee benefits. Ensure company policies are in compliance with relevant legislation, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and ACA.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee benefits records. Prepare reports and analyze data related to benefits utilization and costs.
  • With the support of the Senior Director, Comp & Benefits, manage the annual open enrollment process; including plan selection, contribution modeling, and team member education and communication.
  • Address and resolve employee inquiries and issues related to benefits. Provide guidance and support during benefits-related life events, such as health changes, retirements, and terminations.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of benefits programs and recommend enhancements or new offerings based on employee feedback and industry trends.
  • Develop and deliver benefits orientation and training programs for employees. Ensure employees are informed about their benefits options and how to maximize their value.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM Certifications a plus
  • 5-7 years of experience in employee benefits administration or a human resources role with experience focused on employee benefits
  • Strong knowledge of benefits programs, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and benefits administration software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Experience transitioning from a PEO model is a plus.
  • Experience with leave of absence administration in the state of California is a plus.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $69,000.00 - $86,500.00 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.
