PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Marketing Intern will support the marketing team in executing campaigns, events, and tactics. This entry-level position provides hands-on experience in a dynamic marketing environment, assisting with logistical details, communication, and supplier relationships. The role offers a growth path to Marketing Co-Ordinator, providing a foundational learning experience for a recent graduate passionate about marketing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Campaign and Event Support

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing marketing campaigns, activities, and events (in-person and virtual).
  • Handle logistical details, including scheduling, venue research and coordination, and preparation of marketing material.
  • Support communication efforts within the marketing team, ensuring seamless execution of tasks.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Manage relationships with marketing suppliers and vendors, coordinating procurement-related actions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of marketing materials and services.

Content and Collateral Production

  • Work alongside content creators, designers, and strategists to produce supporting collateral for marketing initiatives, blog content, sales enablement material, and newsletters.
  • Provide administrative support in content creation, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and marketing objectives.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with specialist team members to produce and review marketing materials.
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and feedback to support overall marketing strategies.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field or relevant diplomas and certifications.
  • Additional certifications are advantageous.

Experience:

  • No prior work experience is required; however, some workplace experience (such as short-term internships or learnerships) would be beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and practices.

Skills:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools (e.g., email marketing software).
  • A basic understanding of SEO best practices and writing for SEO are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with design software (Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite) is advantageous.
  • A good understanding of the technology industry.
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
