Pacific Life is investing in bright, agile, and diverse talent to contribute to our mission of innovating our business and creating a superior customer experience. We are actively seeking a talented Appian Platform Engineer to join our team. This role can be on-site, hybrid, or remote. 
 
As a Platform Engineer within the Pacific Life Technology team, this person will provide critical support for the Enterprise Appian Platform within Pacific Life. This person will use their technical experience and depth with the Appian Platform to apply industry standards, protocols, technologies, best practices, and commonly used enterprise systems. 
 
How you will make an impact: 

  • Provide technical assistance and architecture guidance for Value Stream, Platform and Vendor Teams, acting as an internal system expert. 

  • Monitor Appian Platform Health Checks, handle network needs for set up and monitoring, and be the point person when Appian goes down. 

  • Be the escalation point of contact for technical concerns or potential technical roadblocks. 

  • Partner with IT and functional areas to develop simple, effective, and innovative solutions to simplify the workflow processes. 

  • Create and review programming documentation and recommend changes in development, maintenance, and application standards. 

  • Architecture design, review, and management of technical risks and trade-offs for Appian Applications 

  • Perform process development and testing/debugging, using best practices to ensure minimal maintenance. 

  • Assist with non-Appian related issues, such as Network or VPN issues, etc. 

  • Develop new applications and application enhancements in Appian. 

  • Meet with Appian regularly to discuss platform issues and platform updates/upgrades. 

 

The experience you will bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, information technology, or related field 

  • 5+ years’ experience designing and maintaining Appian BPM Applications 

  • Software development experience (.NET, Java, Visual Basic, C#, etc.) 

  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and UI/UX design. 

  • Knowledge of web application architecture/design fundamentals 

  • Experience with Appian Admin console, administration of application servers would be helpful 

  • Familiarity with Appian Integrations, Appian Plug-Ins 

  • Familiarity with MS-SQL or equivalent 

  • Experience working in an Agile team environment 

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills​ 

 

What will make you stand out: 

  • Appian Level 1, 2, and/or 3 Certification 

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Appian, BPM, or other Workflow Development experience 

  • Knowledge of Appian development, UI design, defining custom data types, process design 

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills 

  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, pipelines, and AWS

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$105,390.00 - $128,810.00
