Job Summary

The Technology & Data Solutions (TDS) business unit is the Syneos Health accelerator for life sciences innovation. TDS houses our advanced technology acquisitions, homegrown products & applications, actively participates in new M&A and partnership activities, delivers critical insights as part of our integrated strategy for customers and drives enterprise-wide adoption and change management for innovative tech & data solutions. Our work supports getting meaningful new medicines to patients faster, with greater positive impact. This position supports our business goals by designing, creating and developing software for both the front and back-end to meet the business needs of our customers both external and internal.

Partner with the delivery lead to drive overall software development and implementation lifecycle to meet customer needs.
Responsible to conceptualize a customer ask, develop and present the solution as part of a development team.
Lead design, develop, and maintain Oracle APEX application to meet business requirements.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand application requirements and translate them into efficient database designs.
Integrate Oracle APEX applications with other systems and databases as needed.
Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages to implement business logic. Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and tuning SQL statements.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on Oracle APEX development best practices.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices.
Contribute to front and back-end development processes. This includes creating interfaces with detailed coding knowledge.
Support full stack development based on the UI and solution design. Contribute to both processes during the design and development phase.
Build new product features or APIs, enable software to exchange information across different applications.
Collaborate with QA to test, troubleshoot and fix bugs.
Proficient in UI (user interface) knowledge and design principles to partner with the larger team.
Ability to design, understand and manipulate database queries. Ability to model data.
Ability to partner with a global team to deliver against customer expectations.
Ability to mentor junior team members across tools, domains and/or customer expectations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

BS/BA degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or experience in related fields.
Proven work experience as an Oracle APEX Developer. Full stack development experience with the Oracle APEX and the Oracle ecosystem.
Technical experience in relevant fields (e.g., Oracle Apex (version 18 or higher and PL/SQL scripting) and some knowledge of UNIX and Linux scripting.
Proficiency with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS etc.).
Proficiency in performance tuning techniques and query optimization
Experience enhancing existing systems and integrating with newly developed software.
Understanding of integrating applications within a cloud-based environment using cloud technologies.
Must be organized, detail oriented and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Independent problem-solving and grit. Willingness to own one’s work, and confidence to push best practices.
Excellent communication both written and verbal.
Previous clinical and/or pharma domain experience strongly preferred.
Previous experience working globally is preferred.
