Job description

Summary: As part of a mission centric, locally delivered and nationally powered organization this role serves as the primary business development lead within assigned territory to secure strategic corporate partnership with deeper LLS engagement and investment in the mission. This position anchors multiple, cross functional internal and external teams and contributes to the overall fundraising goal for assigned territory. In collaboration with regions, provide strategy and leadership for overall 6+ figure multi regional/national partnership. Relentlessly pursuing cancer cures.

Duties And Responsibilities

Mission Integration

  • Serve as territory business development leader to promote the understanding of the LLS mission
  • Work in partnership with Education Services and Health Research department to effectively communicate the LLS overall mission, programs, resources and priorities
  • Collaborate with mission, research and patient education on innovative funding opportunities within assigned region

Strategy and Vision

  • Build, shape, and lead business development for corporate partnerships in collaboration with territories and regions
  • Create annual strategic plan to maximize region potential designed to enhance corporate giving including corporate foundations, consumer initiatives, matching gifts and workplace giving
  • Act as a strategic partner with regions and prospects to capitalize on corporate giving opportunities including cause marketing, commercial co-venture, consumer engagement, workplace giving and mission and campaign sponsorships
  • Ensure that corporate philanthropy and fund development efforts are aligned with the organization's values, mission, vision, and plans
  • Create and convert a sustainable pipeline for national corporate partnership growth High Impact Fundraising and Stewardship
  • Partner with the business development team(s), and executive leaders to effectively secure corporate support within assigned territory
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with national, territory, and region leaders, and others throughout the organization to ensure the successful integration and implementation of programs
  • Provide leadership to ensure the effective coordination of corporate partnership activities and marketing strategies within assigned territory
  • Ability in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and closing financial support, and building long-term relationships with corporate partners and donors
  • Design and implement effective business development programs, while maintaining expenses and providing strong return on investment to partners

Financial Oversight

  • Accountable for business development revenue responsibility for designated territory
  • Assure a fiscally sound operation, including the timely, accurate and comprehensive development of contributions income and expense budgets, reporting, monitoring, and implementation.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote Organizational initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in progressively responsible fundraising positions with nonprofit enterprises. Preferably at the national level within the nonprofit.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Weekend & evening work may be on occasion
  • Territory travel approximately 40%-50%

  • Average salary range is $110,100 to $159,735, open to further discussion based on geography.
