Job Overview

In the role of Advisor Programmer Analyst (SSIS Development), you will be integral in utilizing technology to positively impact the health outcomes of underserved populations. This position allows you to merge your technical passion with a meaningful mission, collaborating with a team of creative problem-solvers in addressing major challenges within healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Maintain SSIS and SQL Applications: Develop, manage, and support SSIS and SQL applications for both internal teams and external clients.
  • Collaborate with IT and Business Stakeholders: Partner with IT personnel and business stakeholders to create, maintain, and support ETL packages in a regulated environment.
  • Escalate Concerns and Improve Practices: Identify issues and collaborate with project management to enhance current practices and suggest improvements.
  • Participate in Design Sessions: Engage in Joint Application Design (JAD), Rapid Application Development (RAD), and Design Specifications Document (DSD) sessions to accurately define business needs.
  • Develop and Implement SSIS Packages: Oversee the lifecycle of SSIS Packages from development through to production, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Administer SSIS: Manage SSIS maintenance by establishing jobs, alerts, and scheduling DTS/SSIS packages.
  • Guide and Debug: Provide mentorship to fellow developers and display strong debugging capabilities.
  • Automate Execution: Streamline the operation of SSIS packages via SQL Server Agent Jobs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to initiatives aimed at process enhancements.
  • Diagnose and Resolve Issues: Efficiently address incident tickets and troubleshooting errors.
  • Develop Documentation: Create comprehensive ETL specifications, data mappings, and necessary documentation for the ETL development process.
  • Perform Data Analysis: Utilize SQL to conduct thorough data analyses and manage data models, ensuring comprehensive understanding of business data.
  • Quality Assurance Testing: Execute quality assurance testing to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Build Relationships: Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Support Testing: Aid in various testing phases including Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.

Required Skills

  • Experience: A minimum of 9 years in application design and development with expertise in SQL Server and MS-SQL scripting, as well as SSIS development.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in crafting complex queries and reports using Microsoft SQL, along with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in team leadership, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Preferred Experience: Familiarity with healthcare plan data and the nuances of medical claims and compliance with Federal and State regulations.
