Position Summary

The Intermediate Interior Designer collaborates with the Design Director and/or Senior Designer and works alongside the Project Architect and Job Captains. Their responsibilities span both design and technical aspects, as they develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and support the development of a project’s design character. Under the guidance of the Project Manager, they help address client needs while ensuring adherence to the project’s scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Draw project elements proficiently to include 2d and 3d studies.
  • Prepare design presentations in collaboration with senior members of team.
  • Compile, organize and send drawings and files with transmittals.
  • Assist in organizing information for project team.
  • Read and understand project criteria and goals.
  • Manage time to perform tasks in a specified time frame.
  • Communicate and ask questions of other team members, contribute to the advancement of the project.
  • With guidance, support external presentations and communications with the Client Team.

 

Reporting Structure

Position reports to the Studio Director(s) with indirect reporting to Design Director and Senior Designer (for career goals, mentoring, conflict resolution, and overall design guidance)

 

Role Qualifications

  • Degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution.
  • Registered or actively pursuing to be either US Registered Architect or NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer (preferred).
  • 5-10 years or more years of professional design experience.
  • LEED accreditation (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, graphic, and verbal presentation skills.
  • Proficient in computer graphics software including but not limited to AutoCAD / Revit, 3-D Modeling Software, i.e.: Enscape or Rhino, MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative suite.
  • Familiarity with AI Tools including Midjourney, Stable Diffusion (preferred).
  • General understanding of building and ADA codes.
  • General knowledge of the current LEED rating system and/or other sustainable initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of construction and furniture costs in order to design to established budgets.
  • Working knowledge of coordinating and integrating MEP systems into a project. 
  • Working knowledge of material and furniture sourcing, costs, bid process, applicability.
  • Show interest in understanding of design, detailing, materials and construction methods.
  • Ability to take initiative in developing project scope and finding solutions for project issues.
  • Ability to work on different projects in different phases.
  • Adaptable to changing project schedules and deliverables.

 The expected salary range for this position is $85,000-$95,000. We will consider relevant experience, qualifications, location and other job-related factors in determining compensation.
