Job Summary
This position is responsible for working with the customers, internal staff and subcontractors to pursue collections of past due amounts, identification and resolution of issues that led to non-payment, and establishment, monitoring and improvement of associated processes and reporting. This person will manage a team of collections and claims specialists. The Accounts Receivable Manager will work closely with the claims subcontractor and claims team to minimize open accounts receivable.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- If supporting TRICARE contract, must be a U.S. Citizen
- If supporting TRICARE contract, must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible management and supervisor experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background
- 5+ years accounting experience that includes Billing and Collections procedures
- Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel with advance functions such as pivot tables, vlookups, macros, as well as general ledger and account reconciliation experience
- Strong communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Critical analytical skills and the ability to clearly communicate results of analysis to management
Preferred
- PeopleSoft or other ERP system experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable team to ensure timely and accurate recording, collection, reconciliation and reporting of accounts receivable.
- Responsible for providing weekly A/R report to CFO to communicate the Company’s accounts receivable and future cash flow projection.
- Oversee collection activities such as sending inquiries, communicating with customers and managing and supporting the team of collections and claims department personnel.
- Pursue efforts to improve the efficiency of the accounts receivable department by continuously auditing and reviewing the existing processes.
- Maintain accurate records and reconciliations of healthcare claims billings, cash receipts, and receivables by location.
- Establish and maintain collections process including procedures and appropriate contacts with customers. Includes establishment and maintenance of method for capturing information about the process (e.g. dates of calls or correspondence, outcomes if other than payment).
- Place collection calls / correspondence in a professional manner with appropriate follow up as needed.
- Designs, maintain and distributes accurate reports that provide insight on accounts receivable, aging, overpayments, etc.
- Responsible for the hiring, training, management, and coaching of staff.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

*Annual base salary for Colorado, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and Washington State residents: $105,404.77 to 111,260.59 depending on experience*
