College Admissions Strategy Consultant

We are a thriving international education firm with expertise in helping international students from 30+ countries make successful transitions to US schools. We are seeking a part-time Strategy Consultant to join our new college counseling team. This is a remote role which can be done from anywhere in the world and requires a great deal of flexibility, both in terms of working hours and mindset. We are looking for people who are open-minded, and have demonstrated experience in multicultural settings.

Our Strategy Consultants lead small teams of Essay Coaches, Tutors and Case Managers to direct the overall strategy for a student's college application process and candidacy building.

This is a part-time, hourly and/or case-based position, that is fully remote and requires no travel. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive admissions strategies for students by crafting personalized plans and collaborating with the rest of the ABC team (including Essay Coaches, Tutors, and Case Managers).
  • Offer strategic advice on academic planning, extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, summer programs, standardized test planning, and all other aspects related to a student's candidacy building and college application journey
  • Leverage extensive knowledge of higher education institutions to assist students and parents in identifying achievable school goals, creating lists of best-fit schools with varied levels of competitiveness to enhance acceptance chances.
  • Conduct formal consulting sessions with students, documenting and sharing notes and action items with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective communication with students and families outside of formal sessions through email and chat.
  • Partner with local Sales teams during Initial Consultations to help potential clients understand ABC’s products and services.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a highly competitive US university.
  • Experience in undergraduate admissions consulting.
  • Strong preference for those with experience working in competitive US university admission offices.
  • Passion for coaching young adults.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills; experience in project management, event coordination, and product management is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management (working with internal stakeholders, students, and parents).
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Preferred experience in education, coaching, tutoring, and admissions consulting.

Compensation:

$100-$150 / hour
