Job Description

Job Purpose

To contribute to the growth of the proficiency testing business in North America. Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned and individual account support in liaison with the customer services and other departments.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • To identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the proficiency testing business, focusing on specific opportunities such as trade associations, GFSI certified organizations and accredited laboratories.
  • Support and assist all commercial PT personnel within North America in the management and growth of new and existing PT business.
  • Increase PT sample volume sales across North America by securing new customers through internal sales and prospecting.
  • Respond to and follow up customer enquiries by email, post, telephone, and personal visits
  • Attend occasional Trade Shows and Conferences
  • Involvement in customer and staff training and PT seminars
  • Provide technical support for customers for PT and PORTAL
  • Contribute to specific North American initiatives aimed at stimulating growth of existing proficiency testing schemes
  • Maintain a satisfactory level of awareness of competitors and their PT offerings, including their online reporting system.
  • Maintain a satisfactory level of awareness of any appropriate new and revised local standards and regulations

Qualifications
  • Experience working within the Life Sciences sector; Analytical or Reference space is preferred 
  • Understanding of Chemistry and/or Microbiology
  • Demonstrable experience meeting and/or exceeding commercial sales targets
  • Ability to develop and successfully manage commercial relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required (90% homebased)
