Job description

This is a remote position.

CXT Software is on the lookout for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to play a crucial role in our dynamic, fully remote team. As we transition from QuickBooks to Zoho Books, your expertise will be vital in ensuring a seamless migration and maintaining compliance across our financial operations. Please note: We can only consider candidates residing in the following states: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, South Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin.


HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

  • System Migration: Lead the migration from QuickBooks to Zoho Books, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

  • Compliance Control: Monitor and enforce compliance with vendor policies, ensuring that all financial practices adhere to internal and external standards. Address any compliance issues proactively.

  • Continuous Improvement: Implement and manage change initiatives to improve accounting processes and enhance efficiency. Take charge of identifying areas for improvement and proposing actionable solutions.

  • Bookkeeping: A strong understanding of general ledger (GL) accounts and classifications is essential, along with proficiency in managing general ledgers. You will also need to be well-versed in basic accounting principles, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). This includes handling routine transactions, reconciling accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting tax compliance. Familiarity with financial statements, budgeting, and expense tracking will be critical to maintaining accurate records and providing insights that support overall financial health.

  • Vendor Management: Maintain strong relationships with vendors, facilitating effective communication and ensuring timely resolution of any issues.

  • Communication: Engage in regular internal communication with the accounting team and other departments, as well as external communication with vendors. Be vocal about necessary changes and improvements within the company.

  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize advanced bookkeeping skills and high-level technical proficiency to streamline processes and leverage technology for increased efficiency.

  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Communicate findings and recommendations using facts and data, avoiding incomplete responses to maintain professionalism.

  • Monthly Invoicing: Invoices must be generated on the 1st of each month, and auto payment processing must be completed on the 20th. These tasks must be performed consistently on these dates, even when they fall on weekends or holidays. Flex time will be provided to compensate for any adjustments.





Requirements

WHO YOU ARE 

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in bookkeeping and vendor management.

  • Software Proficiency:

    • Experience with QuickBooks, Zoho Books

    • Proficiency in G Suite, Excel

    • Experience with collaboration tools, like Confluence, is a plus. 

  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with state use/sales tax compliance and relevant regulations.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred, but not required.

  • Remote Work Experience: Proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.

  • Professional Demeanor: Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly and confidently.
