Job description

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to work with us in our accounting department. This position will work closely with our Finance Director to manage Financials.

Responsibilities:

  • Support daily office accounting needs: opening and forwarding accounting related mail, escalating on site accounting issues, run reports/ provide files/ records as requested
  • Reconcile Bank and Credit Card Accounts
  • Maintain GL supporting schedules, as requested
  • Support closing activities as assigned
  • Payroll processing
  • Assist Audit Process by ensuring files are easily accessible and properly supported
  • Timesheet verification/accuracy support
  • Support/Back up Accounts Payable Process
  • Support gathering and verification of documents needed for billing/ invoicing i.e., bills, contracts, timesheets, payroll reports, supporting schedules, etc.
  • Ensure that the accounting files (paper and digital) are organized

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Principles through college education and/ or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3 years of full charge accounting experience
  • Accrual based accounting experience
  • Can maintain schedules for audit/ closing with proper oversight/ training
  • Strong day to day bookkeeping experience
  • Keen attention to detail
  • System and process improvement experience
  • Technology and tools competency
  • Advanced excel experience
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Payroll systems, QBO, and Bill.com preferred
