Based in New York, NY, the Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition will report to the VP of People and will oversee our Talent Acquisition function, with a vast majority of your efforts focused on our Retail employee population (e.g., Studio Managers, Piercing Apprentices, Earbar Team Members). You will be responsible for refreshing and maintaining all aspects of the candidate experience, from sourcing to offer, and will drive standardization and adoption of approaches and processes with our hiring managers. You will engage with prospective Retail candidates to better understand their experiences, interests, and motivations - ensuring they align with our values and are committed to our business’s growth and success. You will measure the impact of recruiting methods in a data-driven manner to support the continuous evolution of our talent acquisition capabilities as well as our employer brand. 

This role will collaborate closely with our VP of Retail, Sr. Piercing Educator and each of our Regional Managers to ensure we are hiring great talent in a fair, equitable and consistent manner to help grow and scale our business.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000, with equity  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting Operations:
    • Manage all elements of recruiting operations, including management of Greenhouse, JD and offer templates, offer processing and background check completion
    • Collaborate with Legal Team to ensure compliance with relevant laws including pay transparency and employee classification
  • Recruiting Standardization:
    • Regularly assessing templates, guidelines and processes to evolve with business needs and industry trends
    • Establish program for training hiring managers on, driving adoption of and compliance with recruiting materials, processes and standards
  • Retail Recruiting Support:
    • Develop and maintain retail candidate pipeline for Piercing Apprentices
    • Source and screen Studio Manager candidates for our new studio openings (NSO’s) and other critical backfills 
  • Vendor Relationship Management:
    • Establish, maintain and leverage relationships with recruiting vendors and partners to augment recruiting needs as/when needed
  • Employer Brand Support:
    • Manage Studs’ recruiting channels, Studs.com, LinkedIn, Indeed and Glassdoor, to drive awareness with, and sourcing of, high quality candidates
  • Workforce Planning Support:
    • Collaborate with VP of Retail, Sr. Piercing Educator and Regional Managers to understand hiring needs for NSO’s and backfills, including succession planning
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with other members of the People Team, including People Operations and Talent Management, to inform and execute talent acquisition needs, processes and solutions
    • Support Corporate hiring managers on critical roles for the business as needed

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant human resources experience with knowledge of progressive talent acquisition issues, trends, and best practices
  • Prior experience at a retail and/or hospitality organization is preferred
  • Very strong knowledge of and experience with G-suite (includes Sheets and Slides) and Greenhouse is critical as well as experience with background check providers
  • Strong critical thinker with good judgment
  • Proven track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to build and innovate programs and solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a particular ability to take difficult concepts and explain them in simple terms for employees across the business
  • Very strong attention to detail and impeccable organizational skills
  • Driven, creative and proactive problem solver that consistently acts with integrity and speaks up
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization in a fast-paced environment while building strong internal relationships and influence across departments
  • Owner’s mindset, with the ability to approach feedback and problems with a positive attitude
  • A team player who rolls up their sleeves and takes on additional responsibilities, while also being comfortable working independently and thinking strategically
  • Excellent client service skills with the ability to take a business-oriented approach to recognizing needs, solving problems and anticipating issues

  • Some travel may be required, based on business needs
