JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for an Senior Software QA Specialist to join our team, this role works hand in hand with a Quality Assurance Manager. An Quality Assurance Specialist reports to a Manager.


Works closely with the QA manager, QA subject matter experts, other QA members, project managers, designers and developers to ensure QA compliance and customer satisfaction. Provides fast, high quality execution of QA tasks for overall agility of the QA team.

Job type: 100% Remote / Temporary Contract

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Location: Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia and Mexico

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Co-responsible for the quality of projects based on the requirements and design specifications.
  • Responsible for attending meetings providing status, taking notes and providing feedback when needed.
  • Should be able to communicate test results, issues, and risks found to project team members, project managers, and QA management through the different channels.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive test plans.
  • Writing and maintaining test cases/scripts.
  • Create traceability matrix documents based upon project requirements.
  • Create checklist documentation based upon project requirements.
  • Performing functional and non functional testing
  • Effectively communicating statuses
  • Apply industry standard testing methodology, strategies and industry best practices.
  • Create defect tickets and track issues to resolution.
  • Report creation and related metrics at different levels when necessary
  • Support the team on onboarding co-workers and/or junior staff members.
  • Should be able to execute regression tests based on design specifications and requirements.
  • Expected to support QA estimations if needed.
  • Expected to fully understand project life cycle and industry standards.
  • Expected to fully understand testing methodologies.
  • Expected to ask all necessary questions when tasks, requirements or information isn’t clear or missing.
  • Should be able to work with other team members to ensure the success of projects.
  • Should be able to analyze and understand details and requirements of projects and tickets.


REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND


Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • +5 years of experience working as a Software QA Specialist.
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies for software development such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience in task management and defect tracking tools like: Box, Jira, Mantis, ClickUp, Confluence and/or similar.
  • Proven experience in creating test cases and test plans.
  • Work experience with test planing tools such as TestRail, Xray, TestMonito or similar.
  • Functional testing experience: Smoke Testing, Integration Testing, Sanity Testing, Acceptance Testing, Exploratory Testing, Regression Testing.
  • Work experience with Cross-Browser Testing using BrowserStack, LambdaTest, Firebase Test Lab, Qase, Responsively App and physical devices.
  • Experience in testing UI/UX consistency, broken elements, responsive design and functional issues.
  • Test case execution, bug reporting, bug tracking and follow-up.
  • Experience in AEM or Content Management System desirable.
  • Experience in accessibility testing is highly desirable, including familiarity with tools such as Axe or BrowserStack.
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 guidelines and compliance with ADA.
  • Working knowledge of tools, methods and concepts of quality assurance.
  • Experience working with local and offshore teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows or MacOS software is expected.
  • Mastery of office productivity tools such as Excel, Word, MS Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe illustrador are a plus.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.


NICE TO HAVE:

  • ISTQB Certification is a plus
  • Other QA related certifications are a plus
