Job description

Description

Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest 100% physician-owned and managed practices in the country. Our growing practice includes 215 radiologists, 44 advanced practice providers, and more than 200 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.

What we do: We provide services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Bronson is a 415 bed, non-profit teaching hospital that serves a 9-county region in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. The Bronson Breast Health Center consistently has high patient satisfaction scores, and was the first imaging center in southwest Michigan designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). As part of Bronson's commitment to excellence, Breast Imaging Services which includes Breast Surgery, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology are accredited by the NAPBC.

What we are looking for: We are seeking a Breast Imager to join our team of 3 fellowship trained experts in Kalamazoo. We can offer full partnership track for standard schedule (including call weekends) OR alternate schedule weekday only (no weekends or holidays). There are two fellowship trained breast surgeons at the Bronson Breast Health Center which provides state of the art technology such as 3D mammography, MRI, multi-modality biopsies, and more.

Responsibilities:

· 100% breast imaging option with 8 weeks of time off or a combination of breast/body/ER as desired with 13 weeks of vacation and 11 working weekends

· Interpret digital mammography, breast MRI, tomosynthesis and breast ultrasound

· Perform stereotactic, ultrasound-guided and MRI-guided biopsies

· Participate in tumor boards and collaborate with breast surgeons and medical oncologists to treat breast cancer patients

· Remote mammo work station available for work from home when scheduling permits

· All radiologists receive an additional stipend for on-site shifts

Requirements:

· Candidates must be proficient in all aspects of breast imaging including breast procedures

· Certified by the ABR or AOBR

· Completion of breast imaging fellowship or equivalent experience.

Why is our practice unique? We strive to offer the best of both worlds- private practice flexibility and compensation with academic options. In affiliation with Western Michigan University Homer Stryker School of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor medical students and pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled.  We find that entrepreneurial minded physicians who value involvement in decision making and developing our business strategy fit well. Participation in section, committee and board meetings is not required but welcomed from day one.

Compensation/Benefits: We offer a competitive salary/bonus and opportunities for additional shifts on a month to month basis. Our physicians pay nothing for medical/dental/vision coverage and enjoy an $18,000 medical reimbursement account annually. We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan ($66,000 in 2023). We offer immediate vacation parity with partners at 13 weeks and physicians coordinate vacation dates within a small pod. We are continually striving to improve the work/life balance for our physicians.

Why do you want to live here? Kalamazoo is located midway between Chicago and Detroit and home to Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo College. Largely due to its college-town influence, Kalamazoo has a vibrant and progressive downtown with great eateries, eclectic shops and a nationally known craft beer industry. It is home to Bells, the largest and longest operating Michigan based brewery. With a rich and diverse community culture, Kalamazoo offers historic neighborhoods, outstanding museums and theatres, and many gorgeous lakes. Kalamazoo is also only 38 miles from South Haven which is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. If you are raising a family, Kalamazoo offers an amazing and unique opportunity. Introduced in 2005, the Kalamazoo Promise provides any student who graduates from a Kalamazoo Public School and meets the basic requirements up to 100% of tuition for any in state public community college or university.
