About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Special Assets/Loan Workout Officer to join our client’s team on a full-time, remote basis. In this pivotal role, you will become an integral part of the SBA Special Assets Team, contributing to the management and resolution of problem loans and ensuring exceptional service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver an outstanding banking experience by setting an example of superior customer service and actively participating in team meetings and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the SVP/SBA Audit & Special Assets Manager to address and mitigate risks related to problem loans, foreclosures, and litigation.
  • Manage the collection, negotiation, and resolution of overdue loan payments for the SBA Portfolio, adhering to SBA and bank regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of marginal SBA Annual Reviews, including property value research, financial and credit analysis, and risk identification.
  • Ensure timely processing of PIP disbursements and review completed files for compliance with SBA and bank regulations.
  • Perform thorough audits of problematic loans and address issues according to SBA and bank guidelines.
  • Gather and prepare necessary data for SBA 10-Tab submissions.
  • Support the SVP/SBA Audit & Special Assets Manager with legal notices and portfolio issues.
  • Monitor and resolve past due taxes and force-placed insurance matters.
  • Ensure adherence to SBA and bank regulations in all special asset processes and procedures.
  • Conduct skip tracing to obtain valid customer contact information as needed.
  • Maintain current contact information for the SBA portfolio.
  • Manage and send timely correspondence and reports in line with SBA and bank regulations.
  • Provide detailed reports on special asset efforts and discuss portfolio recommendations with management.
  • Review documentation related to resolution efforts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect customer loans, collateral, and bank assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking, with a background in special assets, financial analysis, or credit review.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate, and consumer loan products, as well as state and federal lending regulations.
  • Advanced understanding of title policies, RESPA, HMDA, and other relevant lending policies.
