Job Summary:
Responsible for overall planning, directing, and optimizing management of assigned commercial and residential real estate and specialty assets held in Trusts and Estates. Under limited supervision, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through experience, specialized training or certification to manage new and existing trust real estate and specialty assets located throughout the US. On-going contact with management and other internal customers is required to identify, research, and resolve issues and provide comprehensive solutions to complex problems or needs.Responsible for policy and procedure development and ongoing monitoring of team adherence to the applicable policy and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform due diligence in acceptance of new real estate and specialty assets (promissory notes, mortgage notes, annuities, oil/gas/minerals, and closely held companies)located across the US.
Manage assets in strict compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
Report monthly to Trust Investment Committee
Review of policies, procedures, and governance of real estate and specialty assets
Develop processes and monitor team adherence, to policy and procedures and monitoring Strong management and leadership skills for leading a team
Real Estate - manage associates who:
- Coordinate marketing, leasing, selling, and purchasing real estate assets.
- Negotiate contracts and leases, review and execute documents, and manage all aspects of transactions.
- Secure estimates and manage repairs/renovation.
- Coordinate annual inspections and triennial real estate valuations.
- Coordinate appraisal reviews and ensure compliance with required valuations
- Prepare annual review of each property together with recommendation to sell or hold.
- Review property tax bills and determine potential appeals.
- Review insurance and determine appropriate coverage.
SCRA adherence
- Hire and supervise third-party fee property managers.
- Work with attorneys to obtain and execute distribution deeds.
- Obtain/review environmental reports; secure estimates and manage remediate projects.
- Interact with Financial Advisors, Trust Officers, and clients to establish and define goals and objectives, working along with the investment officer to establish appropriate asset allocation.
- Exercises discretionary personal trust administrative authority
- Respond to Financial Advisor inquiries regarding acceptance of new properties, real estate management, and other relevant topics.
- Balance conflicting resource and priority demands.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Specialty Assets – manage associates who:
Monthly review of promissory and mortgage note receipts.
Promissory and mortgage note delinquency administration.
SCRA adherence
Preparation of annual letters to promissory and mortgage note borrowers.
Review oil/gas/mineral documents and collaborate with third party vendor to ensure proper title and recording.
Review attorney and CPA work on closely held companies where RJT is manager
Review financials and actions of directors/shareholders on closely held companies where RJT is not manager
Processing and posting receipts from assets.
Processing capital calls on closely held assets.
Monitor and ensure valuations of assets are current.
Collaborate with internal and external parties to obtain valuations for all assets.
Prepare annual review of each asset together with recommendation to sell or hold.
Qualifications:

- Knowledge of advanced concepts, principles and practices of Fiduciary laws and principles sufficient to manage real estate and speciality assets.

- Operate standard office equipment and ability to learn software applications including computer based trust accounting systems and other common estate planning software programs.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) and a minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of trust real estate and specialty asset experience
- Experience with LLC’s and partnerships preferred.
- OR ~
- Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Candidacy for CPM or CPM certification preferred
CTFA preferred
