The Information & Records Governance team is dedicated to ensuring the reliability, availability, and compliance of all information and records. This team provides clear governance, consultation, and practical tools to support the organization’s information management goals.

Position Summary

We’re seeking a motivated and experienced individual to lead our Retention Schedule Program, a vital enterprise compliance initiative impacting various functions across the organization. As the Program Lead, you will manage the Retention Schedule Program, providing program management, change leadership, and consultation to diverse functional partners. Your primary objective will be to ensure that retention requirements remain clear, current, and relevant to the organization's processes and record types.

Your responsibilities will include defining, facilitating, and documenting analyses of regulatory, legal, and business factors that determine retention periods. Collaboration is crucial, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams and learn about data disposition practices, contributing to the growth of this essential enterprise initiative.

This is a hybrid position, allowing you to work from both a remote office and an assigned location as business needs dictate.

Compensation

The salary range for this role varies by location and is based on several factors, including skills, education, certifications, experience, market value, and internal equity.

Estimated Salary Range

  • Minimum: $114,000
  • Maximum: $182,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Retention Schedule Program, including risk and compliance projects.
  • Administer and maintain the Information & Records Retention Schedule, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance documentation and retention practices.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on regulatory, legal, and business requirements to keep retention policies current.
  • Facilitate change requests to the Retention Schedule, addressing stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with internal experts, functional area record owners, and external counsel to support retention efforts.
  • Support information lifecycle and data disposition programs by providing clear guidance and examples.
  • Manage program performance metrics and key indicators to ensure goals are met.
  • Influence decisions around records retention and data management at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Develop educational and training materials to support program initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years of related experience in records management or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, public policy, information systems, legal studies, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business, finance, economics, public policy, information systems, legal studies, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with retention schedule development and management, including familiarity with retention schedule software.
  • Strong project management skills capable of handling complex initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical and problem-solving expertise.
  • Knowledge of ARMA International's Information Governance Maturity Model (IGMM), The Principles, US DOD 5015.02, ISO 15489, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Certifications such as CRM, IGP, or related governance certifications.
  • Experience in utility or construction industries is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
