About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to lead our efforts in North Carolina and South Carolina. This role involves overseeing all aspects of our operations in the region, driving our mission to enhance lives through action, education, and accelerating change for those affected by kidney disease. What You’ll Do

Lead & Inspire (Impact)

  • Spearhead local programs (both live and virtual), directing strategy for professional and patient initiatives.
  • Manage and empower staff to maximize partnerships and ensure effective program implementation.
  • Represent our organization at the local and state level with key stakeholders, fostering meaningful relationships.
  • Collaborate with health systems, medical communities, dialysis centers, and community partners to garner financial and collaborative support.
  • Provide leadership for the Medical Advisory Board, driving impact in patient and professional communities.

Fundraise & Engage (Resource Development)

  • Identify, cultivate, and steward corporate sponsors, individual donors, and family foundations to grow engagement and revenue.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors, ensuring a high-touch stewardship plan.
  • Partner with the staff team to grow relationships for board/volunteer and corporate recruitment.
  • Develop contingency plans and pivot to virtual environments as needed to reach targets.
  • Manage staff implementing local Individual Giving, Special Events, and Programs.

Guide & Support (Board Development)

  • Lead, retain, and engage a local Board of Advisors committed to our mission, vision, and priorities.
  • Meet annually with board members to complete their individual engagement plan and recruit new members based on identified gaps.
  • Work with the board chair to plan and execute substantive meetings.

Plan & Oversee (Fiscal Oversight & Market Planning)

  • Develop and execute the region’s operational plan, including budget, financial analysis, team development, corporate development, and program needs.
  • Ensure budget management, ROI targets, and legal financial reporting.
  • Identify, cultivate, and recruit volunteers, companies, and organizations to participate in our mission.
  • Develop and activate market programs, donor engagement, special events, and communications plans.

Manage & Mentor (Managerial)

  • Directly supervise local market staff, providing guidance, training, and coaching.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff, and provide timely performance evaluations.
  • Handle corrective action of employees in accordance with policy and perform additional duties as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 8 years of fundraising experience in nonprofit (voluntary healthcare experience preferred).
  • Proven experience in obtaining major grants and gifts, recruiting corporate sponsors and partners, and developing virtual programs and special events.
  • Experience working with volunteers, board of directors, and managing staff teams.
  • Demonstrated competence in planning, budgeting, forecasting, and volunteer motivation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, interpersonal skills, and computer/database proficiency.
