As the Managing Director of the Life & Annuity Division, you will provide strategic leadership for the entire function, including the remote Inside Sales and in-branch Field Sales teams. You will partner with executive leadership, Insurance Marketing, and Affiliated Life Partners to develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy aimed at driving Agency growth and profitability. You will be responsible for managing the P&L as a distinct line of business within the organization, fostering relationships with internal stakeholders, AAA Life Company, carrier partners, and industry associations.

 

 

What you will do:

  • Oversee the creation and execution of multi-year plans and budgets, integrating all functional aspects across business lines and geographies. Stay informed on industry developments, leveraging new opportunities to advance company initiatives. Manage vendor relationships and ensure effective use of both internal and external resources.
  • Provide strategic leadership across the Life & Annuity Division, ensuring optimal staffing, training, and development of the team. Focus on building a strong talent pipeline while adhering to the highest professional standards, laws, and regulations. Ensure alignment with the company’s mission, leadership values, and member interests.
  • Lead and inspire a team of insurance sales leaders, enabling their guidance, coaching, and mentorship to optimize team performance and achieve accelerated sales targets. Establish and communicate aggressive performance metrics and KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and ensure rapid development and growth of team members.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership in the planning, development, and execution of digital lead generation, sales and marketing strategies, promotional campaigns, and team incentives.
  • Ensure absolute compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards governing the insurance sector in the high-growth provider model, mitigating risks associated with non-compliance.
  • Maintain and strengthen partnerships with AAA Life Company and carriers , ensuring that Life & Annuity Sales team effectively serve as liaisons between clients and insurers, particularly in the event of claims.
  • Oversee the accurate management and reporting of paper and electronic records within the agency management system, ensuring that all Life & Annuity customer files in Applied Epic are complete and up to date.
  • Develop and expand referral networks that generate business opportunities across personal, family, and small business life insurance and retirement planning markets. Facilitate cross-team referrals to enhance service offerings and client satisfaction.
  • Establish a deep understanding of available life and annuity products and concepts to meet diverse client needs. Maximize business opportunities by recommending complementary financial services, including membership, travel, and other products, to both existing and prospective clients.
Qualifications

What you need:

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Management, or a related field, Master's Degree preferred
  • 12+ years Sales experience in the Life Insurance industry 
  • 10+ years of recent proven success in leading Life & Annuity teams at a strategic level
  • Active Life, Accident and Health Insurance License
  • FMLI and/or CLU designations preferred

 

 

Salary: The pay range for this position in Providence, RI is $157,000 - $195,250. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Annual bonuses are some of the additional forms of compensation offered.
