ABOUT THE POSITION 

Allergy Research Group® (ARG), seeks a Supply Chain Manager to strategically source high-quality finished good materials, manage supplier relationships, maintain healthy inventory levels and cost-effective procurement strategies. You will be responsible for managing supplier programs and negotiating supplier agreements to ensure the best possible terms and conditions. You will develop buying strategies and target stock levels by factoring in production forecasts, supplier performance, cash flow, and purchasing agreements to support production and achieve costs at or better than budget. This role will interface with internal stakeholders, external manufacturing partners and 3PL. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies for inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels and turnover rates.  
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels 
  • Anticipate supply problems and implement resolution, manage inventory trend projections, and provide clear scheduling direction 
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best terms and prices, ensuring quality and delivery standards are met.  
  • Manage 3PL & supplier relationships with primary responsibility for bringing resolution on a day-to-day issue related to pricing, product availability, and ongoing projects; evaluate and report on KPIs. 
  • Review and implement contracts for the purchase of materials, services, and capital goods.  
  • Source multiple strategic ingredients, packaging components and Finished Goods.  
  • Identify and execute cost savings initiatives that support the departments’ overall savings goal, deliver improved quality, cost, service, and innovation. 
  • Support supplier transitions when required by monitoring liabilities, enabling supplier set-up, and ensuring documentation is accurate and complete. 
  • Aid in developing and managing the company’s supply chain strategy. 
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of supply chain best practices across the Supply Chain and business units. 
  • Support business execution of new programs and initiatives including promotional activities, and new product launches. 
  • Company expert on assigned raw material pricing, including global markets, both current and future. 
  • Assess risk of suppliers and materials and recommend risk mitigation plans. 
  • Develop and execute Sourcing Strategies, leading Sourcing Events, ex: RFQ and the negotiation and contracting.  
  • Monitor inventory availability and movement of materials, supplies, and contract manufacturers to meet production and delivery schedules. 
  • Analyze data to reduce inefficiencies from end-to-end supply processes to find bottlenecks and other areas of improvement. 
  • Provide leadership and support (including data analytics, tools and process development). 
  • Drive continuous cost saving opportunities on material cost, supply chain inefficiencies to maintain margin goals. Deliver against annual Total Delivered Cost, inventory plans, and service level targets. 
  • Drive lean inventory management practices and mitigate obsolescence for raw materials. 

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL BRING  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar field   
  • 5 + years' experience in supply chain and strategic sourcing  
  • Ingredient Sourcing, inclusive of botanicals, extract and commodities material categories strongly desired  
  • 3 + years negotiating contracts and managing strategic partners (contract manufacturers & 3PL) 
  • Experience at a consumer goods company or procurement for a manufacturer 
  • Experience working with legal and terms & conditions negotiations 
  • Understanding of procurement principles, concepts, practices, and standards 
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes. 
  • Proficient in ERP tools (NetSuite preferred) 
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills 
  • Motivated and self-directed team player with strong interpersonal skills 
  • Must have ability to influence at all levels within the organization 
  • Ability to create, implement, and sustain policies and procedures 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Vitamin, Mineral and Supplement experience a strong plus 
  • NAPM (A.P.P. C.P.M.) or APICS (CPIM, CIRM) certification preferred 
  • Data Visualization skills (PowerBI or Tableau) preferred

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000-$115,000 USD/year. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: location, education, skills, training, and experience. This position may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
