We are seeking an Account Development Manager, Global Sales, who will work to maintain and expand AIP Publishing’s revenue base by introducing new products and services to new and existing accounts in an assigned territory. The principal focus on small to medium sized accounts. The incumbent, working with support and marketing staff as appropriate, will focus on understanding customers’ needs and maintain effective and productive relationships with librarians and information professionals. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales quotas by renewing subscription products, and selling additional products and services, to AIPP customers
  • Successfully collaborating with marketing staff to promote AIP Publishing products and services and generate sales leads
  • Provid clear, constant, and accurate reporting
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of AIP Publishing offerings

Essential Functions:

  • To reach and exceed annual sales targets and objectives
  • Drive sales growth by securing AIP Publishing’s customer base via the renewal of existing accounts, and/or adding new products and services
  • Make direct sales contact with key decision makers and library contacts at designated institutions, sourcing new contacts as required
  • Develop accounts by researching customer’s buying history, suggesting related and new items
  • Work closely with marketing staff to ensure customers and prospects are well-informed about AIP Publishing’s products and services
  • Understand the competitive marketplace and identify opportunities that differentiate AIP Publishing offerings from its competitors’
  • Report on market trends and sales performance to Director of Sales
  • Produce timely and accurate sales reports including updated sales pipelines
  • Keep Salesforce CRM up to date and analyze tracked opportunities and activity
  • Monitor sales-related expenses related to territory assignment to ensure expenditures do not exceed budgets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret data to help inform decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to make persuasive product presentations adapted to different buyer requirements
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to propose creative solutions to challenging problems
  • Must possess good negotiation, influence, conflict management, and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with ability to make persuasive product presentations adapted to different buyer requirement
  • Strong organizational skills and good time management
  • Familiarity with STEM publishing environment a plus
  • Experienced with Salesforce or similar CRM a plus
  • Fluency in a foreign language a plus

Additional details:

$65,000 - $75,000

Salary within the above posted range is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience.

To be considered candidates must reside within NY, NJ, CT, MD, VA, PA, MA, RI or Washington, DC.  This is a remote first plus convening opportunity. Travel required as needed.
