Overview:
GitHub is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join the Business Insights team that is focused on delivering data-driven points of view and insights to elevate GitHub’s decision-making, alignment and expansion. This role will contextualize and synthesize data from across the company – internal business, customer, and market and competitor data. You’ll be expected to build meaningful insights from our data and market analysis that enable leaders and inform strategies and investments.
The Business Insights team sits within the Operations Organization driving evidence-based recommendations and frameworks to inform company-wide strategies that support GitHub now and help drive the GitHub of the future. This position requires an experienced business analyst who is comfortable with conducting market-based research, identifying new spaces for GitHub, synthesizing data and findings into insights, and communicating and advocating insights to business leaders.

Responsibilities:
Conduct market based competitive research by identifying, gathering, and interpreting information
Synthesizes findings into insights within a project, including implications that inform business decisions
Create frameworks and methodologies to drive problem solving and insights
Deliver findings, recommendations, and insights to business leaders through written documents and presentations
Analyze data, track patterns, and identify trends that impact business performance.
Maintain a sharp landscape radar for competitive intelligence and market strategies.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Several years experience in strategy, management consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND Several years experience in strategy, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
OR Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND Several years experience in strategy, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
OR Doctorate in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, or related field AND Previous experience in strategy, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience
OR equivalent experience.
Previous experience in the software industry (e.g., SaaS-based products).
Previous experience with pricing and packaging for software-based products
Preferred Qualifications
Several years experience in the software industry (e.g., SaaS-based products).
Several years experience with pricing and packaging for software consumptive-based
products.
Experience with some different transaction structures including investments, commercial agreements, acquisitions, and divestitures.
