Technical Publication System Integration Analyst

Dayton T. Brown is a Leader in Technical Publications | Logistics | Engineering & Test | Military Missions Systems. We have a perfect opportunity for a Full-Time, Technical Publication System Integration Analyst to join our amazing talented team in our Technical Services Division.

Responsibilities

This position will be working in a team environment alongside other Subject Matter Experts in the Logistics, Technical Publications and Training fields. You will be asked to provide 'Best Practices' in support of our customer programs and our in-house technical teams for development of Aerospace and Defense logistics, technical publications, and training data. This includes assistance to program management as it relates to logistics, technical publications and training development, and sustainment for all programs across the division. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • Experience in development and update of S1000D Business Rules Exchange (BREX) Files, BR Decision Points (BRDP), and BR narratives.
  • Assist with technical proposals in response to RFPs as it relates to technical publications and software solutions.
  • Work with our Technical Services team to evaluate technologies and disciplines required to fulfill requirements for our customers.
  • Assist Program Managers with and implementation of foundational tasks related to BREX, SNS, DMRL development.
  • Ensure processes are developed and/or updated to ensure our technical services team meets or exceeds the specification requirements, as well as DTB's quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our customers, which includes attending virtual and/or in person meetings to communicate processes, technologies, potential risks, solutions, and options for action plans.
  • Responsible for assisting DTB project managers with technology requests, and evaluation methods to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Remain in tune with latest industry trends, technology, and the future of technical publication development.
  • Test and evaluate new software and tools, to include updates to current software and tools, providing analysis to program managers, and recommendations to upper management.
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of business management and financial principles.
  • Ability to work in pressure situations and to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have proven successful experience as a data analyst and programmer within a technical publication environment. Additional qualifications include:

  • 4-year degree in Computer science, Mechanical Design, or equivalent.
  • 15+ years' experience in the development of technical publications for commercial or military programs.
  • 5+ years of experience in a project management role.
  • Experience in the development of technical publications proposals, and the associated technical publications and training processes which may impact project cost and scheduling.
  • Solid understanding and extensive experience in technical publications technologies and development processes for use in logistics, technical manuals, and training products.
  • Hands-on experience with technical publications development IAW standards such as S1000D, MIL-STD-3001, MIL-STD-3031, MIL-STD-3048, MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-38784, MIL-STD-2361, MIL-HDBK-2361, ATA 100, and/or iSpec 2200.
  • Knowledge of stylesheet (FOSI, XSLT, XSL-FO) development and update to assist in publishing output for various customers and program requirements.
  • Experience training customers on standards and specifications, as well as technologies and processes used in the development, update, and publishing of technical manuals.
  • Extensive experience with markup languages (SGML, XML), Data Type Definition (DTD) and Schematron.
  • In-depth knowledge of Arbortext and Arbortext Publishing Engine, as well as with Antenna House publisher.
  • Strong computer skills; must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Be able to travel, as required.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance if required.
