About The Opportunity

DMI is seeking an Associate Creative Director.

The Associate Creative Director will develop work that has meaningful and measurable impact, achieves project goals, and satisfies client brand requirements. They help lead the copy, design, tone, and direction of work from concept to execution.

They seek out innovations and technologies to cultivate new concepts and promote exciting new ideas. They ensure the timely execution of projects to assure earnings, growth, and profit goals are achieved.

Duties And Responsibilites

  • Creative Development & Concepting
  • Encourage experimentation, creative exploration, and growth
  • Constructively critique the work of team members
  • Strong presentation and communication skills at all levels, both internal and client teams
  • Work with Creative Director(s) and team members to create concepts that express and enhance the client’s communication needs and key strategic insights
  • Guide teams through creative concepting, execution, and delivery in accordance with departmental processes
  • Meet all timelines and deliver executions for Creative Director(s), account team, and clients to review based on the project schedules
  • Know all pertinent industry, channel, client, and product information, such as audience insights, product benefits, KPIs, brand standards, and production specifications
  • Responsible for current knowledge and understanding of emerging trends and technologies and the ability to institute best practices for digital and traditional marketing products
  • Client Management
  • Communicate creative rationale to clients, defend the work, and articulate reasons behind each choice
  • Work with client teams to move their agenda forward and provide solutions
  • Creative Leadership
  • Collaborate with account and project management team members to identify questions and pertinent project information needed to execute assignments
  • Work with Creative Director(s) and Project Manager(s) to assign work
  • Manage creative staff and freelance to ensure their work meets DMI standards, including the ability to clearly articulate feedback and provide constructive oversight that elevates the creative product
  • Mentor and inspire teams to perform at the maximum of their abilities
  • Assure that creative work meets client objectives, aligns to the brief, and meets deadlines on budget
  • Partner with cross-disciplinary teams including Strategy, Experience & Design to bring creative ideas to life
  • Team Management
  • Build trusting relationship with a small team
  • Consult on new hires
  • Welcome and onboard new hires
  • Drive goal setting, performance review processes, and promotion advocacy
  • Be an example for others to follow
  • When changes happen, help with change management communications
  • Push and/or inspire the team to envision how technology can be leveraged to develop integrated brand/marketing experiences

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 8+ years of relevant industry and proven leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in visual communication design, advertising, or other related field
  • Extensive knowledge of digital display, video, and paid social
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, current design, and advertising trends

Required Skills/ Certifications

  • Broad understanding of website development and UX/UI design, including WCAG and ADA requirements
  • Knowledge of principles and best practices for all marketing channels
  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro; Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint & Excel; Google: Docs, Sheets, Slides
  • Working knowledge of digital and prototyping tools like Figma
