Job description

Role Summary

Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper who will handle financial transactions, track expenses, documentation, and compliance processing. This role will also work with team members, vendors, and clients in addressing financial discrepancies.

WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

Essential Functions

  • Financial Transactions: Record and classify day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
  • Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements and other financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets, maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Invoicing and Payments: Prepare and send invoices to clients, track payment receipts, and manage accounts receivable. Process vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and record company expenses, ensuring proper categorization and documentation
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Payroll Support: Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll and related taxes
  • Documentation and Filing: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, both physical and electronic, to facilitate efficient retrieval and compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Assist with audits and tax filings as needed.
  • Communication: Collaborate with team members, vendors, and clients to resolve financial discrepancies and address inquiries
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve bookkeeping processes, suggesting, and implementing efficient solutions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience as a bookkeeper or in a related financial role
  • Must have proven experience and track record of working the night shift (at least most recent role and the last 3 or more with 6 months plus working the night shift)
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data entry, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts
  • Integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with colleagues, vendors, and clients
  • Possess excellent leader and driver qualities
  • Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment
