Technical Writer - Integration Products

At Phrase, we help open the door to global business by providing the complete localization solution. Consisting of Phrase TMS and Phrase Strings, our unified Platform is built to cover the full range of translation and localization use cases. With a global team working from our offices in Hamburg and Prague—or from home across Europe, the UK, the US, and the APAC region—we serve thousands of global customers, including leading brands such as Uber, Fujifilm, Shopify, Bosch and Snowflake.

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer with a strong background in API documentation and software development environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing, maintaining, and continuously improving our technical documentation. This includes creating clear, concise, and comprehensive user guides, API references, release notes, and other technical documents to support our products and services.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Develop, write, and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including API references, user guides, installation manuals, and release notes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Set up and manage API documentation, providing guidance on best practices to the team.
  • Review and edit documentation created by other team members to ensure consistency, clarity, and technical accuracy.
  • Continuously improve documentation processes, tools, and style guides to enhance the overall quality and usability of our documentation.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, contributing to the development of new documentation site features and processes.

What you need:

  • At least 3 years of experience in technical writing, with a strong focus on API documentation.
  • Proven experience in a software development environment, ideally with a good understanding of Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Demonstrated experience with the docs-as-code approach, as an example using Git for version control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and designers.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with technical authoring tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe RoboHelp, or similar.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Remote work experience and the ability to thrive in a distributed team.

What you’ll get:

  • 4 Company holidays additional to your regular holidays (1 day per quarter where the entire company is off to celebrate our achievements).
  • Your birthday is off because it is important to celebrate you as well.
  • 2 Giveback days where you can support the local community, volunteer, and/or participate in charity events and activities.
  • Professional and extensive onboarding.
  • Learning & development through Phrase learning and a dedicated ChatGPT Plus user license
  • Additional local benefits depending on the entity you're hired at, just ask your Talent Acquisition Partner.
