Binnies an RSK Group company is looking for experienced
Civil Engineers to work within our Consultancy team on water projects.
You will have the opportunity to be a part of the Water Utilities team working primarily in the Anglian and/or Midlands regions. The role will involve taking a leading role managing engineering work in these regions and directing engineers of other disciplines involved in the respective frameworks.

About The Role
The role is suitable for an experienced Chartered Engineer. You should be able to demonstrate leadership and the technical knowledge and experience to guide engineering teams in the following areas:
- Coordination of design outputs across all technical disciplines.
- Delivery of the design stage outputs of each project within the agreed timescale and budget.
- Ensuring that an adequate Technical, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability review is carried out for each project.
- Oversight of production of design documents which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be purchased, installed and commissioned effectively.
- Ensuring that company/client standard designs and design practices are utilised wherever possible.
- Agreement of the design cost budget and monitoring performance against the budget and providing forecast costs to completion for individual projects.
- Recording, monitoring and controlling design changes in order to maximise cost efficiency.
- Contributing to ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
- Being aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers’ perception and satisfaction.
- Taking all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality.
About You
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers or another relevant institution.
- Previous experience in the water sector is not essential, we would look for technical skills transferrable to a civil engineering role in the water sector.
- Desire to support and mentor more junior engineers towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Self-motivated and effective team player.
- A drive to deliver sustainable solutions in the water and environment industries.
