Chief Financial Officer

Remote within the UK

£100,000 - £120,000 per annum


Our client is an established Fintech Mortgage Brokerage that is reshaping the mortgage industry with cutting-edge AI and technology solutions. Their mission is to streamline mortgage processes, enhance customer experiences, and drive financial innovation.

With year on year success my client is planning for the next phase of growth, seeking a dynamic Finance Director / Chief Finance Officer to join their team and lead their financial strategy, with a focus on digital transformation, automation, through data-driven decision-making, and commercial excellence.

As an experienced and strategic thinking Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer you will experience of leading a finance function, able to guide my client through its growth trajectory. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimising financial performance, automating processes, and fostering growth in both startup and large-scale environments.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s growth and profitability goals.
  • Work closely with the executive team to shape long-term business plans, including funding, innovation grants, acquisitions, and new ventures.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on thorough financial analysis and forecasting.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Oversee the FP&A function, ensuring accurate forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Create and maintain financial models to guide decision-making and evaluate strategic initiatives.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure the company's financial health.

Digital Transformation & Process Automation:
  • Lead the digital transformation of the finance function, focusing on automation to improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Implement AI and advanced analytics tools to reduce manual errors and accelerate reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement by adopting innovative technology solutions that enhance financial decision-making.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal financial controls.
  • Enhance the cost-efficiency and performance of financial systems and controls.


Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure financial alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with departments to drive financial literacy and accountability.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead investor relations, providing timely and accurate financial reports to support fundraising and strategic partnerships.
  • Represent the company’s financial interests in negotiations with partners, clients, and vendors.

Commercial Finance & Strategy:
  • Provide financial insights to commercial teams, driving revenue growth and cost optimisation.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, such as market entry, product development, and pricing strategies.
  • Ensure financial strategies align with commercial objectives, balancing short-term and long-term needs.


Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a fintech, technology, or related industry.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with expertise in digital transformation and process automation.
  • Strong commercial acumen, strategic mindset, and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, data analytics, and advanced financial software, with experience using tools such as Xero.
