π· Salary: β¬55,000 - β¬75,000 per annum (based on experience and track record) + uncapped commission
π Location: Republic of Ireland including Northern Ireland
We are a hybrid team based throughout the UK. This is the first role based outside of the UK within our team. While the role offers remote flexibility, attendance at quarterly company-wide and functional meeting sessions in London is required.
The role
We are looking for a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead our go-to-market strategy in the Republic of Ireland, with a focus on expanding Islaβs footprint within the Health Service Executive (HSE) and other healthcare entities, including voluntary hospitals and clinics.
You will manage the entire sales process, from lead generation through to closing, with a dedicated focus on the Irish market. As a key member of the Sales team, you will be responsible for implementing our established strategy to position Isla as a leading digital healthcare solution throughout the Irish healthcare system.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of our growth throughout the Republic of Ireland. While people management will not be a requirement initially, we anticipate team growth and expect the position to evolve into a people management role over time.
Who We Are
We are a growing team dedicated to improving healthcare. We are ambitious, customer focused, and driven by the impact we are having in healthcare. Weβre also a VC backed startup, which brings agility and growth opportunities unlike anywhere else.
Since going live in our first pilot sites over 3 years ago, Isla has scaled quickly and is now working with over 30 Trusts across the NHS. We have several ongoing international projects spanning from Ireland to Trinidad and Tobago. Isla is an intuitive and highly scalable solution which can be deployed across multiple specialties and can support patients right across their healthcare journey.
What is Isla?
Isla is a response to healthcare systems that are not able to scale to meet the increased demand. It is a cloud-based platform that allows both patients and clinicians to securely submit information to support clinical decision-making. The result is a continuous flow of data (photos, videos, sound recordings and forms/questionnaires) which enables automated and personalised pathways and clinically-coded risk stratification. The platform is specialty agnostic and as a result is currently implemented in over 40 patient pathways and sees 1 million submissions onto the platform annually.
Over the next 12 months you will:
- Build Islaβs presence in the Irish market and input into our growth strategy
- Establish a repeatable process for generating new leads into the business
- Contact prospects via phone, emails and through industry events
- Work with potential clients to understand their needs and whether we are well positioned to meet them
- Work with the Product Team to constantly develop and strengthen the platform
- Input actively into company strategy and steer key decisions
- Explore new market opportunities
- Proactively continue to build your network of senior leadership within the Irish healthcare industry
- Run product demos and map out next steps with prospects, working your way up the organisation ladder to get final sign-off
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Account Manager, or similar
- Proven track record of high performance, with significant experience selling to healthcare organisations throughout Ireland, including the HSE
- Deep understanding of the Irish healthcare system, particularly around clinical pathways and digital health transformation
- Experienced in working with or within the HSE
- B2B SaaS sales experience (good to have)
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles, including building relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Experienced in building great relationships with key decision makers, including C-suite stakeholders
- Evidence of analytical capabilities and taking a consultative approach to sales
- Analytical mindset with the ability to provide solutions tailored to the clientβs needs
- A solid understanding of sales performance metrics
- Self-management & motivation
- The ability to self-organise and take advantage of a flexible process
- Ambitious, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Using AI tools for your application
Most of our roles include several questions as part of the application process. AI tools such as ChatGPT might be useful in structuring or proof-reading your cover letter or your application answers. We encourage you to do your own research though to fully understand the company and the role you are applying to as you will be asked questions during any interview. Generic AI-generated answers are also really obvious. We'd like to get an idea of how you think early in the process; you should also make sure Isla is the right fit for you before you apply. Make AI tools work for you, not against you!
