Job description

We are looking for a full-time Business Development Consultant to take on ownership of a portfolio of clients in EMEA for Pamoja. 
Founded in Oxford in 2009, Pamoja is the leading online course provider for the world’s most sought-after international secondary school curricula. It is the only company authorised by the International Baccalaureate to provide supplementary online courses for the IB Diploma. 

Over the past decade, Pamoja has developed a truly global community of learners. It has expanded the curriculum of its international school customers and provided its students with a broader range of course options and increased opportunities for personalised learning. During the 2023-24 academic year, Pamoja enrolled more than 3,600 students from 749 schools in 110 countries.

This position combines new sales and account management, which is critical for the growth of our business. You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with customers and overseeing sales. 

A successful candidate will be self-driven and able to focus on their priorities while working cooperatively with others to ensure excellent client service. 

We seek personable and professional Business Development Consultants willing to be creative and think outside the box while aligning their work with broader team and company goals. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success.
  • Directly responsible for achieving budgeted sales from Pamoja products within the territory. 
  • Set and track your region's sales account targets aligned with company OKRs.
  • Develop positive relationships with clients, act as the point of contact, and handle customers’ needs.
  • Undertake a consultative customer needs analysis to identify the buying motivation for adopting Pamoja Online Courses as an integral part of the school's curriculum.
  • Generate new business utilising existing and potential customer networks.
  • Manage all new customer opportunities through the Pamoja sales cycle, from prospect to close, ensuring all opportunities are logged accurately in the CRM.
  • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers promptly.
  • Support Finance with chasing up unpaid invoices for your school accounts.
  • Provide weekly goals/forecasts and reports as required.
  • Report on the status of accounts - track and monitor the health of customer accounts through regular health checks/pulse checks.
  • Communicate professionally, effectively, and knowledgeably internally and externally at all levels, both in person and via phone or video call.
  • Represent Faria/Pamoja at worldwide IB conferences.
  • Ensure that customers receive the highest level of consistent customer service. Display a positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude and manage customer issues appropriately.
  • Coordinate with the School Services/Admissions teams to ensure a smooth client transition at the point of registration.
  • Work individually and as part of a team, creating and maintaining positive relationships within each targeted school.
  • Work closely with the Faria AM’s/Sales team to share customer information and support lead generation across products for Faria and Pamoja.
  • Contribute to team professional development.
  • Work closely with Marketing, School Services, and Academics to support and share relative business intelligence and market trends.

Requirements

  • 3+ years prior sales or account management experience in EdTech or SaaS.
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills with careful attention to detail and a natural flair for building effective relationships.
  • Interest in EdTech and desire to make life better for students and schools. 
  • School admissions/administration/technology experience is a bonus.
  • A passionate, competitive attitude, & ambition to achieve.
  • Demonstrated self-learning.
  • To thrive in a dynamic, fast-evolving environment, a team player with exceptional influencing and communication skills and a flexible approach is essential.
  • A candidate who understands having conversations at different levels of the education sector and adapting their skills and knowledge to varying needs.
